Breakdown & Field Repairs
When plant stops, we get it moving
Mobile breakdown response and field repairs on heavy plant, trucks and mining equipment, on site or back in the workshop.
A stopped machine is lost production, and on a remote site the cost climbs by the hour. Walton Mechanical Group puts experienced heavy diesel mechanics on the problem fast, in the field with a fitted service truck or back in the workshop for the bigger jobs.
What we repair
- Breakdown response on heavy mining and civil plant
- Field repairs and mobile servicing on remote sites
- Engine, driveline, hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and repair
- CAT C15 service exchange support for eligible engine replacement jobs
- Truck and service vehicle repairs
- Component replacement and fault finding on site
Field first, workshop when it counts
Most breakdowns are fixed where they happen. Our mechanics carry the tools, parts and a service truck to get plant running again where it sits. When a repair needs the bench, our workshop takes it from there, and we can supply a hire machine to cover the gap so your job does not stall.
Mobile breakdown repairs across Bunbury and WA
We are based in Bunbury and respond across the South West, the Goldfields, the Pilbara and the Kimberley. Whether you need a mobile diesel mechanic for a field breakdown or a planned repair back at the workshop, call us when something stops and we will get a mechanic moving. See our Broome and Kununurra to Newman work for what a remote Kimberley mobilisation looks like in practice.
Heavy diesel mechanics for the Kimberley and Goldfields
Remote sites are where a good mechanic matters most, and they are the hardest places to get one. Our heavy diesel mechanics and diesel fitters have worked on Kimberley sites from Broome through to Kununurra, supporting a dam construction program and rehabilitation work, and we cover the Goldfields around Kalgoorlie, where our crews have delivered heap leach and pit support. If your site needs plant as well as people, our machine hire and labour hire mobilise together.
Remote programs tend to run for months, not days. Rather than flying a mechanic in for a one-off callout, we can keep a mechanic and a fitted service truck on your site for the length of the job, so availability holds up for the whole run, not just the week after the visit.
Breakdown and repair questions
How fast can you get to a breakdown?
Call us with the machine, the fault and the location. We prioritise breakdowns and get a mechanic moving as fast as we can from Bunbury or the nearest crew already on site.
Do you repair on site or in the workshop?
Both. Most breakdowns are fixed in the field with a fitted service truck. Larger jobs come back to our Bunbury workshop, and we can supply a hire machine to cover the gap.
What do you repair?
Engine, driveline, hydraulic and electrical faults on heavy mining and civil plant, trucks and service vehicles, across all makes.
What areas do you cover?
Based in Bunbury and the South West, responding through to the Goldfields, Pilbara and Kimberley.
Do you have heavy diesel mechanics for the Kimberley and Goldfields?
Yes. Our heavy diesel mechanics and diesel fitters work on Kimberley sites from Broome through to Kununurra, and across the Goldfields around Kalgoorlie. For a program running months rather than a one-off callout, we can keep a mechanic and a service truck on your site for the length of the job.
